What amazing clouds last weekend. I was driving, staring at the clouds, sometimes holding up my polarizing filter to see the effect and exploring backroads on my way home from a weekend away. I stopped when I saw this barn and field. The contrast and texture of the field was amazing and I knew that the sky would be amazing in B&W with polarizing and red filters, so I got low to the ground, double checked my exposure for the sky and shot. I didn't use my red filter, I used the red channel with a slight bit of green when converting to B&W. Actually, since I discovered the channel mixer I have been leaving my B&W filters at home... Setting the horizon along the centerline was a bit risky, but I think the texture of the clouds plays well against the texture of the field. Does it work?

Perfect composition between sky and ground, "clouds is moving".

I still don't own a red filter, but I've shot in B&W with a polarizer and I always get a strong contrast. This one beats them all. The effect of the house between the ground and the sky is just terrific.
